The Employment and Training Administration has created an online tutorial to help state and local staff members better understand the data elements in the Workforce Investment Act Standardized Record Data (WIASRD). Because the WIASRD is used by the workforce system nationwide, it is important for workforce professionals throughout the country to share a uniform understanding of the data fields. The WIASRD is a collection of individual records, each of which contains information about an individual participant's characteristics, service received, and outcomes. Staff can learn how to record WIASRD data by viewing job-seeker scenario lessons and by looking up fields directly in the reference library. Each lesson is 5-15 minutes long. Red links in the lessons are opportunities to learn more about WIASRD fields. Staff can click on them to dig deeper into the material. The "Next" and "Back" buttons will also help you navigate through the lessons. To start, simply use the mouse to click on any of the scenarios or reference library lessons.
This training module is one of many in ETA’s on-line tutorials on Financial and Performance topics.
